30, of Mesa, Ariz.; assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 195, based in Atsugi, Japan, and deployed with Carrier Air Wing 5 aboard the carrier Kitty Hawk.; killed when his F/A-18C Hornet was lost over Iraq. The incident remains under investigation.
White, 30, was the first U.S. pilot killed in the Iraqi war when his single-seat Hornet jet was shot down over southern Iraq on April 2. The military said his jet was “probably” brought down by a U.S. Patriot missile in a “friendly fire” incident under investigation.

21, of Phoenix; assigned to the aircraft carrier Nimitz, home-ported in San Diego; died June 6 of a non-combat related injury while in the Persian Gulf.

22, of Kingman, Ariz.; assigned to the Third Battalion, Seventh Marine Regiment, 29 Palms, Calif.; died June 26 in Karbala, Iraq, from a non-hostile gunshot wound.  Seaman McIntosh, 22, who enlisted in 2001, served in Iraq as a Navy hospital corpsman in charge of aiding injured and sick Marines.

20, of Queen Creek, Ariz.; assigned to II Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C., during Operation Iraqi Freedom, killed Sept. 6 when the Humvee he was riding in rolled over in Qaim, Iraq.

    August 20, 2006...............Navy Hospitalman Chadwick T. Kenyon...........Operations Iraq Freedom
20, of Tucson Ariz. Assigned to the 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.; died Aug. 20 of injuries suffered when his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Anbar province, Iraq.

Dustin Kelby Burnett, 19, of Fort Mohave, Ariz., died June 20 while conducting combat operations in Farah Province, Afghanistan. Hospitalman Burnett was assigned to First Marine Division Detachment, Twentynine Palms, Calif.
